New Massive Attack album but no Beth!

Massive Attack have officially announced the release date for their forthcoming album entitled Heligoland which will be on February 8th 2010. 

According to the Massive Attack site, the album features the vocal talents of Horace, Martina Topley Bird, Damon Albarn of Blur,  Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, Guy Garvey of Elbow, Hope Sandoval, Robert and Grant.

03. Splitting The Atom – Vocals by Robert Del Naja, Grant Marshall and Horace Andy

06. Flat Of The Blade – Vocals by Guy Garvey (formerly known as ‘Bullet Proof Love’)

It was widely rumoured that Beth Orton had recorded a track and would be included on the album. I did read somewhere that a recording did take place but the track was shelved how true this is we will have to wait and see. Her managemnet would not confirm or deny, just a ‘Don’t believe all you read’!

So we will have to wait and see – unless anyone out there has anyone more information?
