When England’s Beth Orton met Midlake at the Mojo Magazine Awards last year, the artists got along so well that they discussed working together in the near future. And while that sort of thing happens all the time in music to no end result, Orton and Midlake may actually have something brewing.
This week, Orton will visit North Texas to check in with her new Denton-dwelling pals. She’ll perform, too, at Dan’s Silverleaf in a gig that Midlake set up for her. And while there’s still no official word on recording or if the band will perform in any way with Orton at this show, the fact is Orton’s an artist worth seeing.
and this from QuickDFW.com :
“Smooth-voiced singer Beth Orton will be in Denton to record some songs with Midlake, so she’s agreed to do a show at 10 p.m. at Dan’s Silverleaf. Best part? The guys will join her onstage for a few tunes. 103 Industrial St., Denton. $10-$15. 940-320-2000. danssilverleaf.com.”
