An emergency benefit to help Texas women

A IS FOR is hosting a Night Of A Thousand Vaginas: An emergency benefit to help Texas women

A is For will host a benefit featuring an evening of comedy and music to raise money for the women of Texas at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles, CA on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 8pm.

On Halloween the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked a lower federal court’s injunction on the dangerous Texas abortion law (HB2) that was passed this summer, despite Senator Wendy Davis’s legendary filibuster. With this decision 1/3 of the abortion clinics in Texas had to shut down overnight.

A is For is organizing this emergency benefit to raise money for Texas abortion funds (Lilith Fund, TEA Fund, Whole Women’s Health Action Fund, and Fund Texas Women) who are working to help women affected by this law by providing financial support to help cover procedures, travel, lodging and child care.

6:00PM – Seat assignments begin
